Hostess Monday with Denise

Hi Everyone Denise aka Denise's Patch here. . .
Today I'm bringing you my first Hostess Monday at Digital Delights, so very exciting.
How many of you own a Visual Art Book with that boring black cover?  I of course did and I thought this would be a great opportunity to create a cover for my Hostess Monday.

I decided to do a relatively CAS style cover, so I went with using the cute image & sentiment from  "You Color My World Set".

Color my world set
The lovely designer papers are from "Spring Has Sprung Digital Paper Pack"
Spring has Sprung Digital paper pack

I then coloured in my image with copic markers, added some Ice Stickles Glitter to the sentiment at each end.  I fussy cut out both of these, putting all the pieces together & the last thing was adding a few sequins. I didn't want to add a lot of bulk and so happy with the outcome.  So I hope I've inspired you all today to get out an cover your books too.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by

Shadow box tutorial

Hi all and happy weekend,
Sharing today an older tutorial which would make a great gift for any ocassion!
I created a shadow box template which showcases any of our stamps perfectly

Template can be found here
Shadow box template
Shadow box template
Comes with the following formats:
ai, eps, pdf,svg, mtc
Don't have a cutting machine?? No problem, it also comes with a PDF file which you can print and cut by hand

Now onto how to put it together
1. Print and cut all four pieces from the template

2. Make score lines using the pdf template as a guide

3. Add your stamps / designs to box insert

4. Attach sides of insert to box front

5. Make sure to align insert with lines at top of box front as shown

6. This is what you front now looks like

7. Attach box back

8. Secure sides

9. Secure flap

10. Attached decorative mat around opening and embellish with stamps of your choice.

I used

Happily ever after sentiment set

Royal FrogRoyal frog (colored)

Princess DelightfulPrincess Delightful (colored)

If you want to make it hanging like the version here, simply make two holes in the top of the box and thread the ribbon through securing with a knot.

I hope you enjoyed this and will try it out for yourself.

Delightful Wednesday- Fantasy/Fairy Tales

Jane and I are continuing the month of August theme with Fantasy//Fairy Tales at Digital Delights- Delightful Wednesday post! I chose something a little different from what I normally would do! I chose Steampunk Tasha! I have never made a steampunk kind of card before! It was a little intimidating to me, but that' why I chose it to try! A very good friend of mine sent me these sprockets all the way from England! I just had to see if I could make something using them! I have a daughter who will really enjoy receiving this card! :)

 Here are the supplies:
C M Wieland- Printery Collection
My Minds Eye- Lost & Found
Spellbinders- Nestaboard- Sprockets
Tim Holtz- Distressed Ink- Vintage Photo
Memento- Angel Pink
Copics, White Gel Pen, Black Thin Sharpie, and Lace

I hope you enjoyed today's post!
Hugs, and happy crafting!
