Hello there! It's Susan here from Craftin' Suzie and it is my turn to be the Hostess this Monday so a big welcome. For my project this time I thought I would show you how to make one of my favourite cards - a Shadow Box Card. Its a fun card to make and it folds nice and flat for posting! This is not my design, there are loads of tutorials on the internet but this is how I made mine.
I used the super cute Darla Duck from the new releases this month and she is available here.
I used a sentiment from the Easter Sentiments set here.
I started with two pieces of card 7" x 5 3/4". Glue some design paper to one piece of card and let dry:
Choose a decorative die (I used Spellbinders Labels 13). Get the second largest die of the set and centre in the card with design paper on it:
Score at 1/2", 1", 6" and 6 1/2" on both pieces of card:
Fold top like this:
Fold bottom like this:
Adhere coloured image onto back piece of card so it will align with the aperture:
Tape the largest and next largest dies together on some plain card ensuring they are equal distant apart. Use some low residue tape to hold them in place and die cut them:
Glue this around the aperture on the front card.
Place tape/glue (I prefer tape for this) on each edge of the back card and stick the front onto the back panel:
Decorate as you want!
Thank you so much for looking, I hope you will have a go at making one! Hugs Susan x
