Hostess Monday | leslierahye

Good Morning!! Happy Hostess Monday with leslierahye! You can join my creative adventure over at my new blog home on This is my 5th year designing with Digital Delights by Louby Lou. I currently am the Team 1 leader for Digital Delights. We will be sharing with you the new February Release on Thursday. I love the versatility of Wendy's stamps. They look great black & white where you can color them yourselves and they look fantastic in the precolored version. Wendy's Mitzy character is one of my new favorites. Such a cute image with a bouquet of flowers for you! I created a trifold card that has a peek-through window on the front.

Bouquet of love Mitzy

Cupids quotes sentiment set

The image is actually on the second panel that opens to the right. The top panel has a diecut hold with a diecut frame. The sentiment Roses are red comes from the Cupid Quotes sentiment set that has several fun images for Valentines.

You open the 2nd panel to reveal a place to write a note or stash a gift card!
I love how this card turned out and I hope you enjoy as well!

Thank you for stopping by!  I will see you again Thursday with a fantastic new release!

Larelyn - Senior Design team coordinator Team 2
Happy Crafting, everyone. I'm Larelyn, the senior citizen of this wonderful design team. I began papercrafting after I retired. I was a teacher, curriculum and instruction coach, and literacy consultant for 37 years. I loved every minute of it, but now I'm loving this new direction my interests have taken me. I purchased a Cricut in 2008 so that I could make albums to commemorate my daughters' collegiate sport and academic careers. I loved doing those albums, but after spending time on the messageboards, I discovered the amazing world of cardmaking. The guest bedroom quickly became a craft room and the true journey began. When I began blogging last year, I was introduced to so many wonderful designers and began exploring new techniques to add to my repertoire. I'm the type of person who wants all the tools, all the supplies, all the papers! I really just want it all. My poor, yet supportive husband thinks I'm having an affair with the UPS driver! In wanting it all, I found Copic markers and, then, digital images. I guess it all goes back to being a kindergarten teacher, I love to color.
When I first began papercrafting I joined the Cricut Card Fairies. We've sent cards to hundreds of people over the last 2 years, trying to bring joy, comfort, and encouragement into the lives of others. It's a wonderful group of crafters and I'm still very involved. I believe it gives added purpose to the joy I feel as a papercrafter.
I am so excited to be a part of Delightful Challenges. I truly believe that entering challenges and striving to become a design team member pushes you to become a more skilled crafter and helps you find your personal style. My style, although I experiment with different ideas and techniques, is quite straightforward. I love clean llines and finding the perfect papers to accentuate my design. I love adding dimension - more through layering papers than adding embellishments - but I do love ribbon and a little bling here and there.

Susan - Senior Designer
Hi my name is Susan Flynn I have recently retired and live in Blackpool England with my husband.  I have two children and one gorgeous grandson.  Now that I have retired I am able to indulge my love of crafts and start to use some of the stash that I have collected whilst I was working.  Actually that was my intention but it is really difficult to use stash, much easier to buy more stash!!  I love card making and particular stamping and have just discovered the freedom that digital stamps can give plus you don’t have to wait for the postman to deliver them!!

Joann - Senior Designer
I have been married for 32 years and have two wonderful sons ages 28 and 26. I have loved crafting all my life and while living in Denver I owned my own boutique store called "Ragg-A-Muffins", where I hand painted furniture and various tin metal items. I also sewed and made all kinds of "Raggedy Ann's and Andy's". My new love now is card making which I found a year ago and fell in love with. joann aka sassy raggedy.

 Nick -  Senior Designer
My name is Helene Siermans. I am 37 years old. I live in a little village called Askeby in Sweden with my husband and my two children. They are the main reason I scrap. I love to scrap the fun and everyday moments as my children grow and change. I also love to scrap about travel, nature, animals and everyday things (like dishwashers, yes they are the best!). I do a lot of different type of paper crafting as cards, mini albums and alter items. I got a really bad paper fetish and can´t help to buy some as soon as I see something that I like. I also got a pretty bad coffee addiction, lol. Love to sit by the computer looking through my blog list with a coffee beside me…
I have been paper crafting for about 7 years but has always enjoyed to create since I was a child. Tried a lot of different things like cross stitches, knitting, painting, doll making, sewing but paper crafting is something that got me real hooked!!! Now I can´t vision a life without it. I have made some new great friends through different design teams and challenge blogs. I am now looking forward to make some new friends here at Digital Delight.

At the moment I teach a year 2 in the Swedish Primary school. I love it!  I also like to be outside in my garden, run in the forest and read books.

Shell - Senior Designer
Hi, my name is Shell (shellshearer in blogland) I am a happily married mom of two beautiful teenage daughters, a 10 year old greyhound, a 4 year old leopard gecko & a 1 year old skunk!

I started crafting 20 + years ago, I started with cross stitch. I then progressed to card making through it. Just doing decoupage to begin with. But when the phenomenon that is digi images started I was hooked & invested so much time into learning to colour. I wouldn't say I'm an expert by a long shot but I do love it, its so relaxing! I have lots of different colouring mediums & amp; love them all. I prefer cute & cuddly images to work with, but will always give anything a try.

I want to say a huge thank you to Wendy for having me back on Digital Delights DT, I just love her images & had really missed working with. I have seen so many new ones that I just can't wait to colour.

Hugs Shell xx

Cristena - Designer
“Make the most of yourself, for that is all there is of you” ~ Emerson. The first time I heard that quote I have truly believed in it! Hello! I am Cristena and I am fiercely committed and passionate about letting all who “think” they are not creative to achieve opening the creative door and unleash the knowledge that it is okay to copy or c.a.s as some call it,  it is how we all learn to create and find our own style. After years of being in the transportation industry, everything from being a flight attendant to insurance underwriter for ocean freight, and years of being behind the scenes keeping buyers safe from fraudulent merchants as a fraud investigator for, the thought of a night or day of crafting is relaxing and a lot cheaper than a therapy session. Jobs such as the ones I’ve had in the past make the thought of mistakes actually fun! Which a lot of crafters take to seriously! I love saying “that is just where the crafting angels are telling you to put more embellishments”, this is coming from someone that thought the first Stampin’ Up! Workshop she was invited to was a postage stamp party, and didn’t know why she was even going in the first place.

I now have 14 years of crafting experience behind me working as a demonstrator for different companies to becoming a Copic Instructor, starting my own online craft store, to being a concept artist for rubber stamping companies. But the best experience of a life time is homeschooling my 2 children, which is amazing in itself with all the stories that could be told by my great supportive husband that has been there for all 14 years of it encouraging me along! From sunny California Inky Hugs everyone!!

I am Dominican and live in the beautiful and sunny island on the Caribbean called Dominican Republic with my son and our Boston Terrier dog named Blue.
For as long as I can remember I have been making cards and all sorts of Handmade crafts. I first started in paper-crafting by making cards and scrapbook that friends and family eventually started asking to purchase from me.
After a couple of years, I started making invitations, souvenirs, party, gifts, home decor and customized stationary that eventually became my home business!
I taught scrap booking and card making  for several years, at crafts store. What made me love Rubber Stamps even more!!  I enjoy making cards and various other customized paper projects, however card-making is my first love.
I love making handmade items and gifts for customers and always delight my customers using the latest techniques and new stuff on the market.
My small studio is on the half side of my bedroom and I'm at my happiest when surrounded by all my papers, stamps and pencils.
Apart from cards, party, gifts, stationary and customize items I also make invitations, gift tags, cupcake toppers, banners, clipboards, notepads and bookmarks, all Handcrafted and made with Love!

I have been crafting for as long as I can remember, knitting and sewing with my mum. I started making cards by accident when I was in a shop and saw a lady demonstrating card making. I bought a goody bag, took some leaflets home and the rest is history as they say. I kept going back every couple of months and learned allsorts from her. I had to leave work a couple of years ago and got back to making cards again. I dabbled in scrap booking, jewellery making, knitting but always came back to card making. Then I found the internet and the crafty world online and I am hooked!!

Sheena-  Designer
My name is Sheena and I have been with my partner John for 17 years. We also have a 15 year old daughter Breanna who is not only growing up to fast but is my whole world. The other member of our family is a crazy Jack Russell Terror named Smudge.

As long as I can remember I have always been arty, at school I was always getting top marks but instead of going on to college I entered the workforce instead. When my full time job turned part time I needed something to fill the gap in my days and that is where crafting came in, that was well over over 8 years ago now. I started off with card kits but found them too limiting, I then moved onto CDs and stamping. I then discovered the unlimited possibilities of digital stamps and here we are. I'm very passionate about what I do and I hope that shows in my work. If you would like to see more of my work please head over to my blog at Cards by Sheena

Delightful Wednesday ~ Blues

Hi Delightful Friends,

It's Larelyn posting for Jane's Wednesday partner, Sandy.  Like Christine, Sandy is without internet (hmmm, that seems to be a problem haunting our designers!) but she did create a fabulous card for the final January theme, BLUES.
Sandy used Slippy and Snowman for her card along with several different die cuts and punches.  Don't you love the pearls?  They add that special touch that Sandy always brings to her projects.
The images has been colored with Copic markers.
Slippy and Snowman (colored)
Thanks for stopping by Delightful Wednesday.
I can't wait to see Sandy and Jane's theme for February.  And, you'll also meet our new designers beginning with February 4th's Delightful Thursday post - good things coming in February!

Valentine box tutorial

Hi guys,
Afraid Christine is without internet this week, so here is a revisit to a tutorial I did quite some time ago...
We are going to show you today how to make this super cute hanging valentine box!!
Supplies needed:
Hole punch
Fabric flowers
glue or atg gun
Cut out the heart box using the SVG file (if you do not have an electronic cutter, the file also comes with a printable pdf for you to hand cut!)
Make score marks (refer to pdf sheet to see where to put them!)
Fold score marks
Add glue to fold

Put box together

Add holes on each side of box and then take your ribbon and thread through each side. Secure on inside with glue or tape.

Print out Lara topper from our Valentine set and cut out. Also cut out the Forever Yours sentiments, attach sentiment to center front of box and then place Lara with her hands just overlapping the top of the sentiment.

Punch a hole at each side of the sentiment and thread the wire from the fabric flowers through the hole. Again secure the wire inside of the box.

Fill box with treats and send to your loved one, or hang it on their door to find!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
