Guest Designer Day

Hi all, hope your having a fabby Saturday........ normally our Guest DT is Thursdays but as I was on vacation last week we changed it to today!! So I am super excited to share with you the talented..........

YOU GOTTA LUV THIS CARD!! WHAT AN AMAZING DESGN!!

SUPER CUTE GINI!!

I have been crafting all of my life, in one form or another. I was very successful as a bead artist (you can see my work on my blog - http://ginicagle.blogspot.com/2009/11/my-beadwork.html"target="_blank" ). I had my work published in over a dozen books and magazines, and lectured and taught all over the country. But... my beaded pieces took on an average 500-1000 hours to complete. About 8 years ago, I began scrapbooking when my first nephew was born. I instantly fell in love with the immediacy of the medium (compared to the crazy hours I spent beading!) In the past year, I have gotten hooked on cardmaking, stamping and coloring with copics. It's really funny to look at any of my work, from beadwork to paper and to be able to see the same style emerge, regardless of the medium. I have always loved dimension, and color and layers. I would say my papercrafting style is Shabby Chic meets Dolly Parton.

Papercrafting is really a family thing for me. My sister and I love getting together at least once a week to color and craft - and of course, my 4 year old nephew wants in on the action as well! My husband, doesn't ever craft with me, but he is my biggest cheerleader, and is always supportive of what I do. We just celebrated our first anniversary . We have a fairytale romance - we knew each other in high school and were friends, but went over 20 years without any contact, and reconnected on Facebook and quickly knew we were meant to be together. I work 4 days a week as a Dental Hygienist in a pediatric dental office - so papercrafting is always a welcomed release!

Thanks so much Gini for joining us and giving us such a great insight into your work!! not to mention your fabulous card!~!

Have a great day

A RAK for Lisa Cooks Sister Jayme

One of our very own DT, Lisa Cook, has posted on her blog a RAK for her sister Jayme and this is what Lisa said it involves:

I am having a special event for my sister Jayme. She is in her early 50's and has terminal lung cancer. To make it worse, her sweet dachshund Molly passed away a couple weeks ago. Today we learned her cancer has spread to several other areas and her time is running out. I am asking for all my card making friends to send her a fun card...not really get well cards obviously, but something pretty or funny that will make her smile. She is a frog collector so frog cards would be awesome! I have been blessed by all those I design for to have a wonderful offer of blog candy. Details are below on how to enter. I will choose a winner June 2nd.

Directions to enter:
1. Create a card that is funny and a frog if you have one! (NO get well cards please)
Inside please include a note saying that you are a stamping friend of her sister Lisa's.

2. Mail your card to
Jayme Clevenger
2826 Wilshire
Woodward, OK 73801

3. Post your card on your blog (if you have one) and directly link back to my event here.

THERE ARE A LOT OF GOODIES UP FOR GRABS, NOT TO MENTION A $10 GIFT CERT FROM DIGITAL DELIGHTS. I URGE YOU ALL TO TRY TO HELP OUT IN SOME WAY, IF YOU CANT MAKE ANYTHING THEN PERHAPS BLOG ABOUT IT AND TRY TO HELP OUT IN ANY WAY WE CAN!!

How our gallery works!!!!!!!!!!!

Thought I'd share with you today how you can get the most out of our gallery...............
You can also locate it at the tab at the top of our blog or from our store!!

Shot of homepage!! You will see that everything is organized into categories. Simply scroll down and find the category you want to see. In this example I chose "All Other Holidays" Click on the photo!!

This then takes you into the album and you can see all the cards/crafts that have been placed in there. In this shot you can see a ST Patricks Day card, a Patriotic card and a Mothers Day card. If you want to see more details of an individual card then just click on the relevant pic

I chose the Patriotic card by Sarah Taylor for an example. You can see all the details and at the right hand side of each card is a description of which stamps and materials etc were used.

Hope you have fun exploring our gallery!!
and be sure to check back there often as cards are loaded weekly!!

Happy creating and crafting folks!!
Hugs
Wendy
